Carrington

The Newcastle Rowing Club is a community sporting club located by the water at the end of Tully Street in Carrington on Throsby Creek, just over the Cowper St Bridge. Newcastle Rowing Club welcomes everyone who wants to row, as often or as little as you want. We are a diverse club with members of all ages, from school students to the long since retired and everything in between. We also have a mix of recreational rowers and competitive rowers who love to train hard and race at local, state and national regattas. You choose your journey.NRC offers a number of programs including a Junior Development Squad, Learn to Row, Turn Up and Row, indoor rowing, and popular club events such as regular sprint racing and ERGtober, an indoor rowing challenge. The Newcastle Rowing Club has a long history spanning over four eras, starting in 1870 and was named Rowing Australia's 2021 Club of the Year for driving rowing participation and development during the year.

We acknowledge the Awabakal and Worimi peoples as the Traditional Custodians of the lands and waterways surrounding Throsby Creek. We pay our respects to Elders past and present and recognise their enduring connection to Country — to the land, waters and skies that continue to nurture culture, community and life.We honour the stories, knowledge and ongoing care the Awabakal and Worimi peoples have given to this place for countless generations, and we extend that respect to all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples today.
